For nearly a decade, we've made it a point to visit Jackson Heights in Queens from Manhattan, and Phayul has become a staple in our routine. This hidden gem, tucked away on the second floor with just a few tables, has consistently served up some of the best Nepalese food we've had. The mixed vegetables and potato momos are our go-to dishes, and they never disappoint. Phayul's participation in the Momo Crawl each year is a testament to its popularity, and it's easy to see why. While Phayul recently opened a new location, our experience there wasn't quite the same. The momos at the new spot lacked the handmade touch that makes the original Phayul special. If you're looking for an authentic, flavorful experience, the original Phayul, despite its unassuming appearance, is where you should go. It's a no-frills spot where the focus is solely on the food, and that's exactly what keeps us coming back year after year.

This place is a hidden gem. It is a small restaurant located on the second floor of the building. It had about 6 tables all together and the rest of the space consisted of the kitchen and till. We were greeted and sat immediately. We ordered a little bit of everything since it was our first time trying this type of cuisine. We ordered 3 different types of momos and a stir fried noodle dish. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. The spicy noodle dish was one of our favorites.

Phayul exudes down-to-earth Tibetan vibes. While flavors resemble Chinese cuisine, dishes like Lhasa fried noodles, Tsak Sha La Kor Hot, and spicy pork offer delightful aromas and flavors. Owner's use of large images on menus caters to global customers. Tidying up could enhance appeal.

No-frills, tasty food for a good price, just make sure you have cash. The momo's were a bit different than ones that I'm used to, but still tasted good. I also really liked the chili oil that they had available here. I sadly didn't have much cash with me at the time, but I would like to come back here again and try more dishes.

I saw this place on a Instagram reel and decided to try this place. We went for Saturday lunch....got a table for two quickly. The place is simple and not crowded inside. The staff is nice and service is quick. The food deserves all the four stars. It was fresh, hot and very tasty. We tried - Crsipy Chilli potato, pan-fried veg (potato and spinach) momos, spicy tofu and veg fried rice. All the dishes every tasty and well spiced. We loved their spicy sauces that are kept at each table to amp up the already tasty dishes. My husband tried the butter tea - and explained it as 'interesting experience' We will definitely be coming back to try some more!

Had a food crawl in Jackson Heights, and momos are a must! This was a popular spot for them, with 2 locations close by to each other. Keep in mind the menu prices are not updated. This was the second time where the cashier rounded up on the money they charged again. Where is the honesty here! Luckily, the Beef Momos (~$10) were as reputable as they could be. They tasted just as amazing as the last time I had them. The nostalgia of the juice, the hearty beef flavor, and the thick skin, all came rushing back. This time, I added hot sauce to them, and they were spiiicy. But delicious nonetheless.
